My name is Akshaya Shankar, and I am a high-school student in northern New Jersey. 5 years ago, I picked up a mehndi cone and started squirting uneven blobs onto my hands, calling them flowers. Now, I am blessed with the opportunity to use passion and combine it with service that I owe my community and the world.
